Melbourne, FL 32940	Music Director	Part-Time Attend worship at service that Chancel Choir is singing Wednesday rehearsal for Chancel and Hand Bell Choir	Chancel Choir Responsibilities: planning and directing the Chancel and Hand Bell Choirs and planning other Special Music Chancel Choir: Selects music and rehearses with and directs the Chancel Choirs. Choirs will perform at one or both of the two traditional services each Sunday Include and Direct Additional Instruments and Choirs as is necessary; Prepares special music for Christmas, Easter and other Special Services If Incumbent cannot direct at a particular worship service or rehearsal, it is the incumbent's responsibility to notify the Parish Administrator and/or the Pastor's Assistant one (1) week in advance. Hand Bell Choir Select music, rehearse weekly, and direct Hand Bell Choir on at least two (2) Sundays per month. Other Duties: In the Absent of Chancel or Hand Bell Choir, arrange for special music at the services, including times when the above choirs are not rehearsing regularly. Meet with Pastor and Music and Worship Commissioners to coordinate matters to subject of music. Attends monthly meetings of the Music and Worship Commission when necessary Attend Staff meetings as necessary. Other duties as assigned. Education: B.A. in Music with concentration in choral conducting. Knowledge of musical heritage and service music of ELCA preferred Skills and Abilities: Effective communication skills, written and verbal. Group processing and facilitation skills Ability to work collaboratively with Pastor, Staff, Congregation, Council and guest musicians. Active member of an ELCA congregation preferred. One-Year Contract period and is limited to rehearsals and performances with some administration responsibility.
